West Kowloon Bamboo Theatre Makes a Welcome Return Today

Shining in its glamorous design and décor, West Kowloon Bamboo Theatre, which runs from January 30 to February 15, features not only star-studded Cantonese opera shows, but also contemporary music and dance programmes as well as a Bamboo Theatre Fair. Today, a roasted pig cutting ceremony by Mrs Carrie Lam, Board Chairman of the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority ("WKCDA"), Mr Michael Lynch, Chief Executive Officer of WKCDA, and Mr Louis Yu, Executive Director, Performing Arts of WKCDA, marked a thriving and prosperous commencement of this well-received annual event. The opening show Life's Blessing to Shen Xiaofu and Meng Yingchun by acclaimed stars Mr Law Ka-ying and Ms Wong Chiu-kwan debuted at 7pm tonight.

   

Bamboo Theatre Fair for a festive New Year

Various traditional snacks and crafts as well as creative handmade goodies from 25 shops at the Fair not only take you down memory lane, but also make the perfect New Year gifts for your family and friends. Bamboo Theatre Fair is co-organised by HULU Culture, the Hong Kong Institute of Education, Yau Ma Tei and Tsim Sha Tsui Culture and Arts Association and Yau Tsim Mong District Council. Xiqu Centre brought to life at its future site

Discover the future Xiqu Centre at the exhibition hall where exhibition panels, models and a computer fly-through animation are displayed. Don't forget to take the "AR Xiqu Centre mini bamboo theatre model" as a souvenir before your leaving. (Free admission)
